Notion AI lives inside your workspace. It can summarize pages, generate drafts, brainstorm ideas, extract action items from meeting notes, translate content, fix grammar, and answer questions about the information already in your Notion. That last part is the game-changer.
Unlike ChatGPT or Claude, where you have to copy-paste context into the chat, Notion AI already has access to your workspace. Ask it "what were the key decisions from last week's meetings?" and it pulls from your actual meeting notes. Ask it to draft a project brief and it references your existing project pages. The AI knows your stuff because it lives where your stuff lives.
Where It Shines

What Could Be Better
The AI doesn't always get context right when your workspace is large. Sometimes it pulls from the wrong page or misses relevant information that's in a different database. It's getting better with each update, but it's not perfect at connecting dots across a complex workspace yet.
The writing quality is good but generic. You'll want to edit the output to match your voice and add the specific details that make content actually useful. Think of it as a very capable rough draft machine, not a finished product generator.

Notion AI is now bundled into the Business plan rather than sold as a separate add-on. Notion's free plan is still generous (unlimited pages for individuals), but AI features are limited on Free and Plus tiers. Notion AI vs. Just Using ChatGPT
